New here?
Your first swim, and what comes after.
Court Farm Lakes is a members-only lake and sauna: every session is booked ahead, numbers are capped, and everyone holds a pass or a membership. Here is how it works, in one place.
Court Farm Lakes is a four-acre natural site outside Lydney: a swimming lake, a wood-fired sauna on the bank, and the Fika Café. Sessions are an hour long, with thirty places in the lake and twelve in the sauna, so the water never feels busy.
The lake and sauna are for members and their guests. Everyone who swims holds a pass or a membership: a pass holds sessions, a membership is book-anytime for its term. Classes and events are open to anyone.
Your very first swim needs neither. Test the Water is a one-off introductory session, £12, with a tour of the lakes and a swim. Afterwards we email you the passes and memberships that fit how you said you'd come. Nothing is bought for you.
Four steps to your first swim
The whole journey, start to finish. Most people are in the water within a week of finding us.
Book Test the Water
Pick a swimming session on the calendar and choose Test the Water at checkout: £12, once per person, no pass needed. You create your account as you book.
Sign the waiver
One typed signature before your first swim, covering the swim declaration, the tow float rule and the site rules. It lasts until the wording changes. Under-18s in your care sign through you.
Choose your way in
After your first swim, pick what fits: a Flexipass for pay-as-you-go, a bundle of sessions, or a membership paid monthly or upfront. Whatever you hold is applied automatically when you book.
Book, turn up, swim
Sessions open 14 days ahead at 8am; book up to two a day. Check in with the team at the café, tow float on, and you're in. Change of plan? Cancel two days ahead and the session comes back to you.
Which is right for you?
Pick the line that sounds like you. The price and the button come from the product itself, so they are always today's.
Trying it once
A tour of the lakes and a swim, with someone to show you the ropes. Afterwards, an email with what fits. Once per person.

Just the sauna
Four one-hour sauna sessions a month, booked onto the Swim & Sauna slots. No swim access.
Coming with a group
Register for the free Community Group Swim Pass and your first four group sessions are on us. Groups are included with every Lake and Swim & Sauna membership.
Every pass and membership, with the full detail, is on the passes & memberships page.
Before your first visit
What to bring
A tow float is a must for every swimmer; borrow one for a donation if you forget. Wetsuit hire is £10.
In winter, boots, gloves and a warm layer for afterwards. There are no private changing rooms, so bring a robe.
Ages
14 and over in the lake from May to September, 16 and over from October to April, with an adult if under 18. The sauna is 16+; clothing optional sessions are 18+.
Accounts are for over-18s. Under-18s come as dependants on a parent's account.
On the day
Check in with the team at the café first. There's a car park next to it, an undercover changing area and a toilet.
Five miles an hour on the farm track. Dogs are welcome on a lead around the café.
The rules that matter
Tow float or life vest on. No jumping or diving, no alcohol, no picnics (the café is open before and after), and clean any kit that has been in other water.
Questions people ask before they join
No. Everyone swims on a pass or a membership, and a Flexipass is the pay-as-you-go option. Your very first swim can be Test the Water, with no pass at all.
